Welcome to the Louisville Clock!
Officially dedicated in 1976 on the River City Mall in downtown Louisville the clock was a collaborative work by Wyatt Wilson, the city of Louisville and Henry Vogt. The clock design was won by Barney Bright, a Louisville artist, who designed the clock to emphasize Kentucky cultural figures and be a larger than life toy. Whimsical, beautiful and a wonderful piece of art this folk art style clock is truly a sight to behold.
Shortly after it was built the clock started to have some mechnical issues. In March of 2004 the Adam Matthews Foundation started work on restoring this great and historic Louisville landmark. The clock, during the restoration was located at Bowman Field on Dutchman's Lane. With the help of many generous donors, volunteers and supporters the clock is now back home on 4th Street as the grand folk art clock that it is. Feel free to look around and come by and see the clock at 4th and Broadway in Theater Square.
